Repair panels
Repair panels
Help please...I am gunna do a bit of work on my truck that doesn't have lots of rot but I want to sort it before it goes mad (which might just happen this winter)
I need a repair panel for both rear arches on trailing end for an 88 SJ. They are not bad but I'd rather weld in repair sections rather than patch.
I have seen these;

Anyone used them?? Any other suggestions??
Mike posted a link to a supplier he uses but can't find the link for that...think it was ebay??
Any suggestions much appreciated...take it easy

Re: Repair panels
Read your link...they say the panel they will send you might need work...hmm. How bad is your old one? And how much is the replacement part?
If it ticks over...leave it
Re: Repair panels
Yeah I saw the 'might need work' disclaimer line. Was hoping someone might have tried them already and give a bit of feedback
My truck is not that bad and I could patch but I would rather use a repair panel if I can find an ok quality section...
Maybe I should just give the above panels a go and report back to you guys....

Re: Repair panels
I bought a rear floor of them too, but that was shite so I sold that on.
Beaver auto panels I used for sills, don't know if they still exist.

Re: Repair panels
Could you get the panel you want from a junker?

Re: Repair panels
Last time I saw a SJ in a scrap yard was 14 years ago. I'd contact them and ask what condition the part is before buying it.

Re: Repair panels
Decided to order a pair of rear lower repair panels so I'll report back on quality and fit
£46 for the two panels with shipping...we'll see if that is good value or not... :-/
