I would *love* to fit a diesel engine, but 99% of them are just too heavy for a zuk. Everyone I've spoken to who's fitted one to a Zuk has said the extra weight has ruined them offroad.

The 1.3 I have is about 85kg. The only diesel engines I'd consider are the 1.4 D-4D out of a Toyota (140lb/ft, 99kg with turbo etc) or the 1.2 TDI 3 cylinder out of a Skoda/VW (120ft/lb, 75kg with turbo etc).

The pug XUD19 engine and the VW 1.6/1.9 engines most people use weigh in at well over 200kg.

Ditto. Got the Yaris TD for being sensible, the SJ is my toy.

Welcome to the club, Major.

Probably worth starting your own thread regarding your build, I'm certain that we're all interested in helping any way we can!
