New rear bumper.
Evening all, i am thinking of making a new rear bumper for
the pick up. As you can see, at the moment it just has small
bumper corners on each side. Not exactly strong (will bend by hand)
I am thinking of cutting them off and fitting a double stack of scaffold tube.
What do you think

I Know how to work it. Not, how it works...............

Re: New rear bumper.
I reckon it would look quite good if you welded a large bit of tube between the two corner bits...

I also think it would look better if the whole bumper was a bit higher up and the corner bits were up near the lights

Re: New rear bumper.
I am thinking of just below the number plate. Want to keep it as
standard as possible. I am only doing it as i will be doing competitions next
year and i know i will smash the rear lights.

Re: New rear bumper.
I would get it right up under the lights and then mount the number plate to the bumper.

Thoses original bumpers are quite hard to find.
Don't cut them off. Just unbolt them.

Re: New rear bumper.
The double scaffold tube has been done to death...can't you use the existing bumper and beef it up a bit?
If it ticks over...leave it

Re: New rear bumper.
in a word no. The original one would not last 5 minutes in the type
of competitions that i do. I no that scaffold tube is old school but
its strong and it works. The body on the Kja is very good and it
would be a shame to mash it up.

Re: New rear bumper.
Looking at your front bumper...why not fabricate something similar to go on the back, that would look pretty trick
If it ticks over...leave it
