Just remembered it is a sj axle, Scottie is right.

No odometer so I thought I'd write down the mileage and check to see what kind of mpg I'm getting. Now realised that isn't working! No wonder the old MOT's showed no change!! Will investigate further, but I think I'm getting about 30mpg.

30mpg? I'd love to see 30 in my SJ!

If you want one the blue LJ will be for sale soon. Might get lucky and get my money back. Greedy? Stupid more like. Really should have looked that car over a LOT better. Oh well live and learn etc.

Cold wet and horrible so did a few little jobs. The park and brake lights on the dash don't work...no cable from the handbrake so need to sort that, the brake light is a mystery as yet. Previous owner had put a bar between the roll cage and the windscreen held down with 2 self tappers, brilliant. That came out. Cleaned out the reservoir bottle and no leaks so that's good, not leaking oil either. It has a wire mesh behind the grill, not sure about that, it's been added so not original. The crappy broken stereo is in the bin, I've got gauges to go in there with a few extra toggle switches, oil temp, oil pressure and volts. A seperate rev counter will go on the right. Think the entire dash will come out for repainting. It's a bit dented here and there. Put on my pool ball gearknobs, the tbox one is an original LJ so any owners out there looking for one let me know. Also found a set of brand new indicator and brake light lenses...neat! My mate Stu thought the brake master cylinder might be leaking but thankfully it isn't. Lots of parts ordered and they should all be on by tuesday, brake shoes, door seals, tbox mounts, engine mount etc. The spare engine it came with is up for grabs, I'll post an ad for that. Also changed the manky door bolts for shiny new ones!

Thought I'd start up Piglet3 and run her for a while, started 1st time and felt like a sports car compared with the LJ!

Big bits done today, tbox got new heavy duty mounts, Llama ones, good kit. Then we tried putting the new engine mount in. Not easy. The one we took out was an SJ one, as you can tell still perfectly serviceable, with a Vitara one on the other side. Oh. Ended up cutting a small amount off the end of one bolt and it just went on. The rear brakes got new shoes, they were shot. Carb was stripped down and cleaned but it's still 'stuttery', so it may be the HT leads, whipped the plugs out and number two was a little sooty, so swapped leads around and I will take it out and check again tomorrow. Changed the manky split pins on the roof for R clips. The CB and aerial arrived so they are going on, not sure where to mount the aerial as yet though. You can see the clutch is missing a grommet, if anyone has one...

Talked to Rob and I am ordering the high steer kit. It is expensive but I need to fix the bump steer problem!

Got some time spare on friday and the other seat will go in (needs a bracket welding in) and the rear bumper will be made too.

Getting there...

Looking cool dude.

Maybe worth going weber or su?

If you want a standard Vit carb for spares or to try ive got one you can have.

Hi matey

The carb says Weber on the bottom and Mikuni on the top! WTF is it?

If it is the carb ar fault then yes if you have a spare Vit one I'll have it.
