Cheers for the replies, folks.Well IMO the pump should be fine......but the electrics working it look very vulnerable.....I thought the Japs were very clever.....but ,on the face of it that positioning looks dumb?

It should be quite well protected from damage. Just hope they used a decent waterproof connector.
The air intake looks like it comes from the engine intake air box/filter so it shouldn't suck in any water.
I can't confirm this, but the intake hose goes under the box, not to be seen again :D

Jimny guys often replace the system with manually operated hubs like SJ owners get as they're not massively robust if you do a lot of offroading.

So I'm sure you could replace the vac operated hubs on a GV if you really want to, but I have no idea if SJ ones fit.
