The rear seat had been butchered at some point to put speakers in...why? Anyway a lump of foam to fit is £68! Yikes! I found a complete rear seat on ebay and offered the guy £13 for it...and he accepted. A doddle to fit, took maybe 15 minutes. So my passengers have a comfy seat now...

Decided to sell the Mini. I can't bear to part with my Vit so I made a start. The engine bay cleaned up a treat, changed the oil and filter, drained the crap out of the rad and made a start on the wing. Just very minor surface rust and it cleaned up easily.

I can't afford two vehicles, but if I could I'd so want that mini!

Not sure I'd fit in it, but that doesn't stop mini's from being awesome.

It's so much fun to drive, like being shot out of a pea shooter, the acceleration is violent to say the least. Handles like a Mini should, but better as it's lowered and on fatter rubber. Thing is it's an untried element. The Vit has never let me down, and if it does I can fix it and cheaply. If the Mini goes 'bang' it's going to cost a fortune to repair that highly tuned engine. I'd love to keep all 3 but I only have garage space for two...and I need the dosh!

The work progresses. There isn't much to do really but I noticed under the rear bumper a lot of tell tale lumpy filler/rust signs. Got the bumper off, surprisingly easy, thought the nuts would be rusted solid ans saw this mess. Someone had been her before with a load of plod and not done a very good job. So I did a proper job. All the rust and filler removed, cured the metal and a quick skim and it's ready for paint.

Bumper side done and it's back on, nearside all done, offside started and the small patches where some idiot put gaffer tape on still wet paint...when it's all finished I'll T cut and then mop it all. Should look sparkly!

donkey, some nice bodywork spraying especially when its metallic paint which is hard to match.

Do you reckon your will turn a profit on this set of wheels, break even or make a loss ??? as it seems that you are going down the same route as the LJ,but saying that the LJ was a very special machine in my opinion a much better investment than a Mini.
