That's debatable with some of the episodes I've seen.....Maybe he is off the camera but it doesn't come across that way in the show all the time, rebuilding carbs without cleaning them.....missing all the rust on that suzuki etc.
I do enjoy his sections of the show more than that annoying Mike Brewer but there's often things he does or doesn't do that spoils it.

Yeah I know mate that's what I'm.trying to say, if he had his way everything will be done how he wants but the production team basically tell him what to do, that mike brewer is a asshole.
The cars are already bought and the production team tell them what to do brewer is just a face for the team. Ed chynas team (he does have his own garage) go through the whole cars then say what needs doing, they also cause some faults with the cars just to give the show something to do.
Also a hell of a lot of the cars come to them with no mot and a lot more faults with them than showed. The rolls Royce they done needed a whole new coolant system, brakes, master cylinder and gearbox.

I've only seen a few eps, and in each one Ed talks like a remedial class primary school teacher. I get the feeling that he looks a bit like a numpty on camera because the people making the show aren't "car guys" - in fact, I get the feeling he's the only car guy involved in the whole thing.
I was seriously surprised to see him welding next to a full fuel tank, and then not bothering to fix the floor on that SJ. Really amateur. Having seen him do interviews elsewhere, though, I get the feeling he's not nearly as numpty as he seems in that show.

I want to know how on earth he managed to make it road legal, guess it was back in the day of the SVA that wasn't as strict as the IVA.

That was built before SVA so it would have been an MOT only.
