I havnt a clu mate how would i check for that ? going to take that cv joint to local garage see what he thinks lyk then check the other side , thanks

Looks a bit odd to me... like its got very hot in that one patch.

that blueing is normal is its a jap CV.

You should be able to rotate the CVs smoothly all the way around with no notchy feeling. you'll want to check both CVs ideally.

not necessarily, it depends how bad the CV is, some won't click if there's no torque going through them.

Thanks lads well took it to the garage for second opinion and he said it was pritty new no play at all , so took the other 1 off and was a bit worn and some play in it pluss no greese so i will replace that one and go from there , is there a diagram to go off to put the lockin hubs back together which way the spring goes , thanks

I used this great vid to disassemble and reassemble mine :thumbup:

First time I fitted locking hubs was cos my front diff broke at an off road event... got a friend to sell me them and deliver to a mcdonalds car park in the freezing cold january night... fitted with only an adjustable snapper, numb fingers and a lot of difficulty...
Something everyone should have = circlip pliers!

Thanks sherwoodnash that vid spot on will get that done tomoz , few questions lads av packed the cv joint full of cv grease and wasnt sure how much to fill the knuckle up with so i used a table spoon heaped 3 n abit lots n chucked it in would that be enough And where all the lockwasher and nuts r shud i grease in there befor i put the hubs back on , thanks
