Yeah deliberately got a carb lump for mechanical fuel pump.

Ditched the standard carb in favour of my SU without even trying it. :D

I've got the SPI lump. Swapping to SU before i even fit it. All you need to do is get a low pressure fuel pump.

Something like this i believe http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewit ... 7832757049

Not so simple when u have to hug the engine and lift it out by hand lol. Nouthing to challenging so far but alittle time consuming (maybe i work slow) that said i havent got the 1.6 engine in yet!!

So comeon guys from starting to finish post up how long it took you to do your first conversion from 1.0 to 1.6 including removing the 1.6 engine from the other car? I will know if ur lieing :D

Took me around 20hours over around 3 month mainly on weekends when it was light you could do it over a weekend if everythink went to plan and you had all bits and tools.

1.6 into a 1.3. Once i get the rest of my bits back off rockwatt it'll be swapped in a day.

1.6 is already on the floor and i've got a hiab crane to do the lifting.

I enlisted 2 friends to help maneuver my engine in, but it can be done with 2...

We use either a bit of scaffold bar, or long angle iron and a towing strop attached onto the engine.
We did it twice like that in my garage :)

I think its harder taking the old one out than putting the new one in! Once you've done it once or twice it gets a lot easier!

Edit: I have used that exact fuel pump on a couple of 8v and my 16v engine and they seem to do quite well
