Is the clutch plate ok? Did it survive? They can sometimes get a bit damaged if they get run the wrong way around.

Its was fine. All sorted. Didn't wven have to drop the box right out, just slid it back out of the way.
Been for a test "drive" round the block and all sounds fine.
Thanks for the input and diagnosis. I hate you all!
