I paid £15 for my 54mm box spanner that's used on a Hilux but just had to pay £20 for a 50mm one off Amazon, (same ones on E-bay between £26 & £37), I trawled all round the motor factors & agricultural places in Barnstaple for hours today without finding one so had to resort to the internet.

But to be honest at £15 plus (current bidding) you may just as well buy a deep socket or a box spanner. Well you already have, just posted the info for anyone else looking for one.

Hilux is 54mm, SJ is 50mm.

The only reason I know that is because I was hoping to use Hilux Scottie's box spanner on mine, but realised it was too big so I bought a socket on flebay for £15.

I want to torque the nuts properly, not just use the "Guess at it, drive it a bit, tighten/loosen" method that people seem to use. I bought a torque wrench the other week, I has gots to find a good justification for it!

I've been told that the kingpins need to be torqued correctly, that it's quite important. I haven't been told why, but I guess it's to do with making sure the kingpin bearing isn't overstressed or crushed.

So get ready - you may have found a use for it at last!
