I'm very impressed, I doubt it looked that good from the factory!

Thanks Anton! I did a few niggly bits today. At the back the rear tailpiece didn't meet flush with the seat panels as the previous idiot had removed various bits, so I made a wee brace and bolted it in underneath. And I replaced the old windscreen bolts with shiny new ones.

Finished off all the little niggly bits, few blown bulbs etc, got her insured. Got kitted up and took her for the MOT, was prepared for a fail as the rear tyre is very low on the centre line...previous owner didn't like getting his knee down I guess..but she PASSED! One advisory as rear brake pads are low or at their limit. That confused me as they are brand new. No mention of the rear tyre.

So today was a sunny one and I went for a blast.

I really can't tell you how this feels, it's been SO long since I've ridden a bike, so took it steady, learning how the old girl handles, and what a blast! Handles like no other bike I've ever ridden. Kinda used to old 2 strokes and a 'flexy' feel from the frame and forks but this is just on rails. Even with the crap back tyre lol. Got to a mates house and he said take it to the old airfield near Cobham (Surrey). He followed me in his Vitara as he wanted a go.

So we both maxed it.

I now have another daily driver...when I say daily I mean when it's sunny and I don't need to go to the shops for anything other than a packet of Rizlas.

I have to say it did feel a bit weird, not ridden a bike for 8 years after my Aprilia RS250 got nicked, but as they say, it's like riding a bike! Pics to follow.

Top job! That feeling when you get an old hunk of junk through an MOT is great, but you just went all out with the Zonky. It's a work of art mate!

Cheers. Andy was round last weekend and he did say it looks better in the flesh than the photos show.

Can't wait for the next sunny day, I do need to balance the carbs though...anyone got a 4 carb balancer I can borrow?

Little Kawazonkey is in hibernation for the winter but rest assured she will not be sold. And as soon as we get a sunny day I'm going out for a blast. The carbs have now been balanced and she runs sweetly now. So happy I don't need to sell her...it took so long and so many hours to get her to near enough factory finished, maybe a tad better!

As some of you might have thought..yes there is another bike resto coming up.

I'm a glutton for punishment lol.

We're gonna hold you to that. She's an honorary :suzuki: and deserves the kind of home only one of us can give.
