You are an idiot
Seriously I thought you learnt your lesson with the disco build????
I quote
turbo-tom wrote:Its a true fact I will not be building a discovery 1 ever again. they are crap to work on stupid manufacturing ideas etc. And I dont like them whisllst driving them off road. I felt like I was driving a boat around a multi story carpark.
So the suzuki sj will continue to live on
Remember all landrovers are pretty much the same

Build it from scratch using a Lexus V8 and Yota axles then. really no reason to build a landrover based buggy using inferior landrover parts in my opinion.

ah maaaaan, see I left land rover for a few reasons. first off it was a twat of a car, every 5 mins something went wrong, from c.v joints to suspension turrets, rust, calipers etc. if it could break it would.
secondly the weight of the thing, all be it I didnt realise at the time. Basically the stuff the suzuki pisses over, the land rover sank in lol which actually leads me to my next point, fuel economy. dont get me wrong sj's arent the most economical but in a time where fuel prices are getting higher its not good for the big engine beasties, even if it is a toy.
im not saying dont do it, end of the day its all good fun, but I think you maybe need to take these things into consideration at least. also how old are you now tom? are you able to drive on the road yet? if so do you not wanna daily drive off roader?
I dunno just food for thought mate

Yeah "IF" it was landrover based it would be off road only no body work etc mainly tube etc, so would'nt have to worry about rot etc. Also minimal wiring etc possbile winches but i want to keep the wait down alot...
Im only 17 atm 18 in october im not on the road yet but my test is due in september but i wont be getting a car straight away probably not until after xmas anyway! so yeah it would be a pure 100% off roader!
i get where your coming from though buddy. I know this is early days but just throwing a few ideas in the bucket.

The word landrover seems to be getting used far too much these days.
How much to have Tom barred for a month Scott?

If you *have* to build something like that, get an LJ70 Landcruiser and fit a UZ1FE Lexus V8 into it.
Or, just get rid of any offroader that isn't a Zuk, and be happier all around.
