Oops, I was looking at the attendance list on the first page of the billing thread...

I'll bring the colortune then. :-D

I redid the timing last night and can confirm I have no idea what I'm doing. 10°btdc at high idle, still just no power, so I'm hoping I can do a wagtail and crawl to billing and let the boffins take a look ;)

sabotage the truck and get the AA to bring you, might be quicker and save on fuel ;)

It should be set at idle, i.e. 850rpm with the vac advance unhooked and blocked. what rpm are you setting it at?

Just what ever tick over is on the truck, no idea of the exact revs? If its only slightly out it won't do any damage to the engine will it?

I said that last page. Vac off. Blocked. Check timing. Retune carb. Recheck timing. Retune carb. Recheck timing. Retune carb. Till its happy.

It all sounds soo technical.

My experience with the KJA

Not starting, check spark, ok. Check fuel, ok to the carb. Still not starting.

Take fuel in pipe off carb, put down the carb, turn over till it starts. Quickly put pipe back onto carb properly. Turn dizzy till is sounds right.

Admittedly I haven't actually driven it yet to see how it goes.

Yes, you did. I did read it, but for some reason it didn't hit me that I hadn't pulled my vac advance when I tuned mine until Scottie said it too!

Don't ask me why...?

I'm bringing a colourtune kit and (if I can get it working again, or borrow HPOC Scottie's) a timing light, and we can all have a bit of a tuneup.

It's a really crap timing light though, so if anyone has one that can illuminate properly, I'd be grateful. This one is fine if you get it within an inch of the the target, but that's hardly ideal, now is it?
