Thought i would kickstart this thread again, well 12 months on i had slept in the back of the Vitara a few times last year but must admit it was not the best scenario.

So as spring/summer is just around the corner,i am going down the route of buying next week a Caranex compartment that goes on the back of the truck, this allows a few creature comforts but only takes less than 5 minutes to put up,also it offer the ability to drive away if you need to go out for the day and then its a stand alone item.Ok it is costing me about £440 but if i look after it i have been told they could last years and also when the old bus finally fails the MOT i can use it on another 4x4 which will also be another Suzuki.

Only thing else that i needed just incase i got caught short was a thunder box, just order one that comes with a bag that you can carry it around it very similar i guess to a boot bag for wellies, and the whole lot came to £26 including postage.

So the ability to still use the car and also have decent sleeping and cooking space is very appealing,i look at it that the amount of use per year it should easily last me 10 years,so £40 odd quid a year is pretty good.

The Caranex back awning should be here in about 10 days time, will update how it is and how it performs, but its not as cumbersome as a big tent or caravan and can be just thrown in the back of the truck in its bag ready for next time.
