Not sure which way to go. I know I'll change my mind 20 times, so at the mo I'm just gathering info in case I do decide to go for a 1.5.
Good chance I'll just go for a G13B, though. Or just port/polish what I have, add a 2" exhaust, and throttlebodies etc. I can always swap to a 16v later, the headers should still fit.
Plenty to be getting on with anyway. Get new V5. Fill in the bit about engine changes, and get another new V5. Body swap. Get a new V5 again. Design, build and fit 3-bar front and rear. Calc weights and spring rates etc based on the vehicle's new weight. Recondition and fit freewheeling hubs. Finish making, and then fit, rear disk brake conversion.
Plenty to do!

I'm assuming you mean 1600 rather than 16v? If you go from 8v to 16v your manifolds/headers wont fitAnton wrote: Good chance I'll just go for a G13B, though. Or just port/polish what I have, add a 2" exhaust, and throttlebodies etc. I can always swap to a 16v later, the headers should still fit.

Yup Twiss is correct, 8V & 16V have different bolt positions for the inlet and outlets.twiss wrote:I'm assuming you mean 1600 rather than 16v? Re: Engine serial number
Speaking of which.... I don't have an exhaust manifold for my new engine! Ooops!

Didn't know that. No, I meant swapping the G13BA for a G13B.
Oh, it's all so complicated!
If I go with ITB's from a bike, I'll have to make an intake manifold. When I do, I'll just have to make sure it's either got the right bolt holes for both heads, or easily modded to fit.

Re: Engine serial number
Yeah the B and the BA manifolds are interchangeable as they are both 8v. I think the heads are interchangeable as well but may be wrong on that one...

Do you mean the A and BA?
I thought the B was 16v?

Re: Engine serial number
The G13B is the 16v dohc swift gti lump, the inlet and exhaust off a G13a or ba will not for this head.
