One door is nearly done...this is the good one, not looking forward to door #2! I'm not going for a concours resto here but I just want it to look good..

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
Had a rethink about the colour. Lime green is great on a Kawasaki but not my LJ. Piglet 1 was painted in nato green an age ago and the shop in Hayes that mixed the paint for me is still going strong so I am popping over for maybe 10 cans of the stuff. It's so easy to apply and looks great (well I think so lol).

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
There is a classic car show in my mum's village on the 19th so I intend to try and sell Piglet 5 there. Made a start on detailing both LJ's engine bays...natch Piglet6 will take a little longer!
The silver paint on the manifold is Homebase's BBQ paint and it's terrific stuff, £8.99 a big spray can, and they do a satin black one even though it says matt on the tin...

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
More done to Piglet5...the chassis rails were coated in years of oily gunk but it finally cleaned up...and a fresh coat of satin black. The inner wings were patchy red in places (the previous colour) so I found a shade of blue that matches up very nicely...and lots of other bits done too.

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
Coming down a stretch of dual carriageway, about 70mph, foot off the throttle as a roundabout was approaching, braked and the entire car lurched right and onto the central reservation. Managed to heave her back onto the tarmac and barely stopped in time. Looks like the left caliper has joined in the fun and games, will investigate. Meantime I'm driving Piglet 3!!

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
Trying to get as much done before Billing so 1st up..the brakes. Caliper rebuild kit went onto the nearside brake...and everything bled again. Much better, actually locks up the wheels now but nowhere near as violent as the Vit so I am ordering rear shoes and braided lines. That's all I can do really. Then number 2...the steering. Vague is an understatement so after a bit of head scratching and finding nuts and bolts that didn't come with it the high steer kit is on. Took maybe 30 minutes all in, surprised me no end. What a transformation...it's like jumping from a tractor to a Porsche. The handling is vastly improved and no problems with it going into a tank slapper every time it hit a pebble...next job is on Piglet3...
