Bit of a thread hi jack now.
I had both backing plates Darrell but to make life easy i gave my Jap SJ reg to the motor factors to identify parts and got sent jap shoes. They wouldn't fit the spanish backing plate, only fit jap plate with a minor adjustment.
I have two drums aswell but neither has a hole in them.

I'm getting a few bits done at a local engineering place so may have them drill it out. Save me knackering mine. Just need measurements.

I measured from centre of the drum out and it was 70mm
With a 12mm hole

Hand brake is working
Replaced the shoes with better ones (not new )
It all works MOT here I come

Remember to tell the mot tester you have a transmission handbrake! Otherwise you get what I got the mot tester trying to test the handbrake effiency on the rollers and wondering why he wad getting a bad reading aka a failure. Until I told him that you cant really test them
