For some time now I have been occasionally hearing a slight 'resonating' sound and had no idea where or what it was. Exhaust hitting the tailgate was my first thought but no...turned out to be the speaker panel behind me! So I whipped it and drove home. All quiet again.

Next step was to take off the panel and fill the door with expanding foam, wow that stuff really does expand, then put the panel back in but with twice as many self tappers, and big ones too. All done now and still quiet, just need to recover the panel.

Didn't British Leyland use some sort of expanding foam on the mini or maxi - they later discovered the foam soaked up water and created yet more rust problems. Can't remember all the details about that.

I think foam has moved on from the Leyland years...thankfully!

I got some new fabric off Ebay as with the rising sun on the bonnet I thought the interior could do with a bit of red in it. Pretty sure this shade is c***o red. Did the doors and the side panels. I have made some new bits to cover where the seat belts went, just need to fit them. Then the exhaust. Think that Cherry Bomb is past it's sell by date. I have a new one and am trying to make some brackets so I can bolt it directly to the pick up floor.

Next is to cover that speaker panel...

It's a sad day, a sad decision but Piglet 3 is going up for sale. MOT expires this month so a new one will go on. 61000+ views of this thread and I thank all of you for looking, laughing, and encouraging me to keep at it. She's been a faithful little zook, never once not started. Always got me home (sometimes on auto pilot). When winter gets here I'll probably regret it. (GREAT heater!) I'll post her here on the for sale part, but she'll also be on Ebay.

The reason? I can't afford to run 2 Suzukis and the LJ, no matter what her faults are, stays put.

Always a sad day when they go, but you have the LJ, so one good thing. I like the comment about always starting and getting you home, but would rather keep the LJ which as we know doesn't always

Whilst I really like the Vit, I think it's a superb "car" as well as a good little truck, it hasn't got that je ne sais quoi that the LJ has. Vits are great, but SJ's are better, and LJ's are better still. Just my opinion, though.

I agree Anton. A shame I have to sell the wee beastie but like Robbie says I have the LJ...

She passed her MOT today so next thing is a good spruce up and then she's up for sale.

Farewell, 'lil Piglet. Chap came over from Bath today and was smitten. He even paid for the full tank of petrol, wasn't expected but a nice gesture. So she's gone to a good home (he was a very nice bloke) and it was either that or leave her in my garage doing nothing.

I did suggest that the new owner joins SCUK as he's never owned a 4x4 before, hope he does.

Sad times, hopefully the new owner joins up and takes care of it. Not talking polish and prestige but off roads it and maintains it properly.
