Re: KJA cut n shut
Just done the power steering conversion on the kja, I used the guide on here and it was 100%. I used the full vitara setup, steering box, pump and pipework, apart from the flow pipe, I used a shorter piece of flexi pipe for this. Then i made a wedge out of some 4.5mm plate, made a new rad bracket for the drivers side and notched a piece out of the passenger side to clear the pump, had to shorten the steering bar that goes from the box to the bulkhead. It seems to clear everything by a couple of mm. Only thing left to do is make a bracket for the reservoir bottle, at the moment its cable tied to the jack!

Still loving every minute of this pickup, still running well. Fitted a different speedo cluster the other day, the KJA now has a rev counter, very posh I know. Big thanks to andyrew for that. All i need now is a working clock and the luxury will be spectacular, ha ha.

Re: KJA cut n shut
As you might of seen from my new build thread, i've got another kja. Its a long way from the road and it had a few nice parts on it that it seemed a shame to leave around the workshop getting covered in overspray etc.
So here they are fitted to kja number 1. Stainless rear bumper with better height tow hitch, stainless side steps and a stainless a-bar behind the cab. Also put the full stainless exhaust system on her, its a lot quieter than the cherry bomb was. Just need to fit the original chrome mirrors now!

Re: KJA cut n shut
Its been a while since I updated this. The pickups still going strong. Had to fit a vitara radiator to it, when we had that warm weather the temp gauge seemed to be getting a little high for my liking. So i made a few brackets and fitted the 1.6 rad I had, seems to run a lot cooler now, haven't seen the temp gauge go past half way since fitting the new rad.
Then I got a front bull bar from ebay and fitted that along with some retro square spot lights I had. Then I decided to fit the headrests I got with the bedford rascal. They looked the same as KJA ones but were infact 20mm too long, so out came the grinder and the welder. Just on the lookout for some seats/doorcards with the same material as the main seats now so that my interior trimmer (my mum) can re-trim the headrests to match the seats.
Also found a transfer box bash plate in the back of my yard that I'd made a while back and never fitted, had to trim a little bit off to clear the back of prop brake but thats all done and fitted now, and lastly I put the chrome mirrors on her.

Re: KJA cut n shut
Looks tidy bud. The side step / bars look a bit odd, presuming they are a proper step?
