I haven't got a bicycle so I better get this right
P.S. Where does the red wire on the fuel pump go ( got to keep you busy while it's raining )

bit of a wild guess but i presume it possible might go to the key ignition side of things

Good question, but I'm not sure. If you connect it to any live after the ignition switch it will work, but what about safety issues as it will pump regardless of the engine running. This is not a problem unless involved in a accident and it's safer if it switched off. Been a had a read-up and it's blooming complicated to make it work like that and would require some electronics. So I can assume most people just connect it to any live from the ignition switch IE: the black and white wire to the ignition coil. I would fit an inline fuse to this wire. Do you know what current this pump uses as that determines the fuse size and whether it's OK to add that load to any particular circuit.

"googled" Facet fuel pump amperage and found this
http://www.facet-purolator.com/faq.php
So I'm sticking with the black and white wire to ignition coil/carb solenoid (on an SJ) fused to the pump at 3amps.
Not sure what colour the coil feed is on a vitara though

Blimey, I'm cream crackered.. Worked till 10pm last night and all day today so I hope this makes sense..
I'm going to try to add a little bit of security as I do these jobs as I've had a couple of
try to nick the SJ..
I was thinking of not only putting an inline fuse but also wiring the pump through a switch on the dash labelled air horn..
I was also thinking of hiding an inline fuel tap underneath the vehicle..
Also fitting an illuminated Start button on the dash connected to the air horns.
I'm guessing that the mentality of said
trying to nick the SJ ( Bearing in mind that it was backed up to a wall with my wifes freelander in front of it..It had no fuel tank..No transfer box on it.. No seats in it and it was behind locked gates ).. Said
is bound to press the "start" button setting of the air horn.. Then he won't be able to start it because the fuel pump isn't switched on (Marked air horn and won't touch it )and if he did figure that all out he won't drive very far because the hidden fuel tap is turned off...
What do you think?

Think I would settle for just a hidden switch somewhere under the dash maybe for the fuel pump wiring, or as you say a incorrectly marked switch on the dash (just as long as any passengers don't start messing )
