SJ413 Clutch fitment
SJ413 Clutch fitment
Bit of an issue getting a clutch onto my SJ.
Engine is a 1324 from a Swift.
Flywheel is from a Suzuki SJ 413
Gearbox is from an SJ 413
Clutch I have, is a National CK9148
It bolts up to the flywheel (pressure plate)
But the bearng is too small for the first motion shaft.
And the First motion shaft wont fit through the pressure plate either.
But an ebay search for SJ413 clutch (and samurai) brings back the CK9148 Clutch.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ben

Re: SJ413 Clutch fitment
Have you checked the clutch disc and the pilot bearing on the gearbox independently?
Might just be an alignment issue as it sounds like it should all fit.

100% too small. And because I bought the gearbox on its own I didnt have a bearing or clutch to check.
its a lot smaller is the clutch and bearing.

Re: SJ413 Clutch fitment
Pics might help, I've just fitted a clutch (for the first time ever) so I may be able to help - especially as I have a spare thrust bearing. My kit came with 2, one "deeper" than the other (I used the "deeper" thrust bearing) so if you measure your first motion shaft (I assume the actual clutch plate fits the first motion shaft?) I'll measure the bearing and let you know if it'll fit.
It should. If it does, you can have it. I can't imagine needing it (if I have to replace the one I've got in there, chances are it's because I need to replace the clutch too, right?).
Sounds to me like you've got a 410 thrust bearing in a 413 clutch kit.

Drive plate doesnt fit either. The only right part is the pressure cover plate.

Re: SJ413 Clutch fitment
Looked the clutch up. Everyone lists it for just about any kind of 1.3 Suzuki SJ.
Are you 100% sure that they have sent you the correct parts?
Are you 100% sure its a 1.3 gearbox?
Photos will help.

Re: SJ413 Clutch fitment
I bought the box as a 1.3 box. It bolts up to the 1324 engine perfectly, and seems to look right.
Clutch parts being correct, I do not know. Will have to double check that tomorrow.
Here are some photos of the clutch and bearing.
Gearbox and flywheel are:
Unfortunately I dont have that old release bearing anymore.
