Hi there my vitara has a 1992 single point injection engine in it.i have removed the injection system it was faulty and fitted a hif44 carb with a BFM needle and a low pressure pump for fuel the ECU is still running the ignition side.the problem i have is the engine will tick over but when revved up it has a flat spot about 1500-2000 RPM after that it is ok if the ECU is causing the problem is there someone i can take the ECU to Thanks Neil

I'd imagine the ECU isn't advancing the ignition timing properly... this would give a flat spot...
Rhinoman is the dude to talk to about anything ECU related but personally if you are running a carb I would put a proper carb distributor on it
Got a few in a box if you're anywhere near me sure I can spare one lol

As i never had the ECU when I fitted the SPI engine in my Samurai I fitted the 1.3 dizzy and coil. Works spot on.
