turbo lag

hi guys iv got a 2ltd lwb gv is there any think i can do to improve turbo lag

at junction it takes a few seconds be it kicks in or is that normol

surely the only way to reduce lag (asuming everything is working) is to move the turbo closer to the exhaust ports?

Smaller turbo would also do it, or a variable geometry turbo.

dual turbo setup, one small turbo, and one big one would also do it. but the "problem" you are referring to is just normal. it will always take a little bit to spool up the turbo, it's simply how they work

Not really, Toyota fitted a variable vein geometry turbo to my Yaris. A bit of research and you can probably find a suitable sized one from another vehicle somewhere.
Most modern TD engines have them now, so depending on the age of his vehicle, he may already have one.
If not, the turbo on a more modern Zuk TD (I think that the modern ones are 1.9, so maybe he doesn't) are probably VGT/VTG turbos, and may even be a bolt on swap.
