revs racing

Hi guys just swapped engines on my sj knackered g13B to an ok g13A everything runs as it should,
except when i switch headlights on revs race upto 3000 rpm. any ideas? cheers mike

Sounds like the idle up system needs adjusting.

MOT failed offside front axle swivel joint has excessive play, can this be adjusted or will it need replacing?

I'd think it's either knackered kingpin bearings or it needs some shims removing.

Probably the bearings need changing though.

Kingpin bearings can be bought on eBay or most bearing suppliers, if you search on here in the axles sub forum Scott has a sticky on axles, and it lists all the bearings/dimensions etc. Just remember there's two fitted one top & one bottom on EACH side so four kingpin bearings for the front axle.

Just had a look in garage, they are 30302 J2, if you google it you will find them all over.
