1999 - is that a single point injection 8v?

What CO reading is the MOT station getting?

I know very little about SPI setups, hopefully someone will come along soon who can give you more of an idea what to do.

Could try a new air filter.

Either that or it could be an issue with the injector maybe??

What about the valves or valve guides. If they aren't seating correctly or the guides are worn it could allow oil past them. Is it burning oil at all?

Is terra clean a form of injector cleaner? If not try some injection cleaner through it.

Check the ignition timing with a strobe light, you need to fix the ignition to base timing first using a jumper in the diagnostic socket. Did you check the plug gaps before installing them? they should be around 28thou

It's done 106000 so it burns a little oil but no smoke the engine runs very well

High CO is usually a rich mixture, is it failing at idle or fast idle or both? What idle speed are you getting? You've changed the O2 which is a good start, have you thoroughly checked for exhaust leaks prior to the cat?

Just before you drive into the MOT station ram a sock up the tailpipe.

Might work...
