Hiya im having problems with my 2003 grand vitara it seems to have a flat spot or hesitation when accelerating particularly at lower speeds the engine seems to 'get stuck' (revs and acceleration) then lurches forwards. im running it on Shell Vpower and have put a full bottle of redex in it.
a friend has a fault reader which has identified;
0130- unknown fault code
C1022/ C1036 front wheel speed sensor
B1503 evaporation temp sensor malfunction
could these be the problem?
what is the evaporation temp sensor and any ideas on the unknown 0130,
can any one help?
many thanks

Re: 03 16vgrand vitara 'flat spot'
Welcome to the forum.
The C1022 and C1036 are fault codes from the ABS, Right front and left rear wheel speed sensors.
The B1503 is a fault code from the air conditioning.
The code 0130 I don't recognise, however if it had a P in front of it, it would be O2 sensor problem.
This is more likely to cause running problems.
I would see if you could get a second scan with a different unit to confirm the codes.
I can get these sections from the workshop manual if your handy with multimeter.
Just a question on which dash do you have, as these changed late 2003.
Later type (hard top only) pic.......

Awesome, thank you for your help, I don't know if it had a Problem before, I think I'll see if I can get a second set of results and maybe get the pre cat sensor, it's the same as in the pic the updated dash.
Thank you
Thank you
