Clutch, slave or Master cylinders on 2lt GV

Post by Ginger_boy » Fri Mar 13, 2015 3:23 pm

I'm trying to work out if I have a problem with the Clutch, slave or master cylinder. When recently I drove my wife's GV I noticed the biting point was on the floor, I have had a look today and now am all confused.
Crawled under and got hold of the clutch release arm to fined that I could push the slave cylinder piston back into the cylinder with out much effort.
Took it off cleaned it reinstalled and bled the system still to fined it does the same. Then noticed as I push the piston back the fluid in the master cylinder moves up and down which to my mind seems not to be right. Although now when I drive it the biting point is now much improved :er:
It' a 4x4 why not drive it across a field
