Vitara will not start please help.

Hi all, please can someone help me , I've got a 1999 vitara 1.6 8v . It will not start , it turns over fine but won't fire up. I have checked for spark from each plug, all okay. Took the return fuel pipe off and turned the ignition on and it chucked loads of fuel out. Even tried easy start and it tried to fire up. If I leave it over night and then try it for the first couple of seconds it will try and fire up but after that it just cranks over .

Yeah , when I did run , if you held the revs up it would hunt , the higher you hold the revs the faster it would hunt. I took the top of the throttle bodie off just now and removed the injector , flicked the ignition on and fuel pumped out nicely, put the injector back in and nothing comes out . I check for power to the injector when cranking and couldn't get a live and the earth that was there with the ignition off went as soon as the ignition was turned on. ECU fault ? Wiring fault ? Injector fault ?
I'm lost lol .

If it worked out of the vehicle, but stopped working as soon as you put it back in, I would think that the wires going to the injector are frayed inside or something - but I'm not an EFI knowledgeable person by any means!

Tried it again lastnight and nothing then hit the side of the ecu and pushed the wires and it fired up ! Better start the wiring checks lol
