Any thoughts, please, anyone, on how to get half a broken key out of the lock, or is it easier to buy new locks?

Is it turned and broken or just snapped when pushed straight in? If it's the latter a very strong magnet may be of use?

It had been cracked and slightly twisted for a while. Didn't realise it had broken off till I tried to get back in after going to the shops.

Not sure because I usually lock it by pushing the button down before shutting the door

My brother has a similar problem on his Suzuki swift. We just took the barrel out and used a small piece of wire to put pressure on from the back side of the key. Then using another piece of wire we pushed and wiggled the barrel pins to move the key out the barrel. After about half an hour we managed to get the other half out.
However, this will only work if the key isn't turned!
