my boring 410

Post by djc » Thu Apr 28, 2016 8:20 pm

been a while, but it was off the road (like off-road but cleaner) for longer than expected. Had it about 3 months now:
- new rad
- new mani and SU44
- new brake servo/master
- new clutch
- Aisin FW hubs (from 88SJ / Paul

various small bits along the way, a temp sender that gets the needle in the middle of the gauge ;), new battery...

The spare original wheels are out for powder coating original cream, then maybe some Hankook Dynapro (standard size of course - the skinny wheel look will be back in fashion soon).
I will soon have a Bestop truck cover coming via a mate in the States. I need a new clutch cable (on the way), and maybe swap the Tbox for the longer 413 box (A Rockwatt rebuild with a good deal on my 410 box as it's a really nice one).
Need original seats (anyone got a pair please, I expect to have to re-upholster) and the chrome mirrors (please?)
Andy has a mint spare wheel mount with a key (mine's been naffed). There will be more to do, always is :)
Drives nice, fairly happy, easily pleased !

I like that alot, needs to be kept as it currently is and used 'slightly' off road rather than abusing it,its very rare to find such a nice example and would be such a shame to alter it in any major way, just use it as a reliable old bus and 'enjoy' it.

Its one of the nicest original condition ones that i have seen for a long time.
