Just Curious, Grand Vit 16" Wheels On An SJ, Pros & Cons?
What are the pluses and minuses of putting on Grand Vitara 16" wheels with 215 standard tyres on a stock SJ?
Probably marginally better ground clearance? how would it effect the gearing, better for on or off road? and how would the speedo accuracy be effected, would it read faster or slower than original calibration?
Thanks!

The gearing difference will depend on tyre profile.
If both setups end up the same overall diameter then the 16s will likely ride a bit firmer due to a lower profile.
16s generally have a better selection of tyres available.
If the overall diameter is greater they will end up with the speedo reading under a little but it probably already reads over a touch as standard so depending how big the increase is it may just read bang on.
Main disadvantage in my opinion is that those GV wheels look shit. Especially on an SJ. That's just personal preference of course.

16" rims will let you run bigger brake calipers, but unless you're rally prepping your SJ, I really don't see the point.
If there's a specific tyre you want that won't fit a 15, then go for it - otherwise I'm with Dan. They don't look great.

OK, thanks fellas!
Apart from LJ's, do you know of any other 16" Suzuki wheels and from what models that have the same SJ PCD bolt pattern, 5x139.7?
Thanks

So, as a rough guide the common 'pepperpot' steelies would be 15" and the better alloy's would be 16"?zook123 wrote:Not all, but a few are
