Tyre size

Post by Espresso » Mon Dec 05, 2016 11:16 pm

HI peeps, so ive got the Vitara home without serious problems but i do have issues with the tyres, the ones fiited are as the previous owner said they are a bit oversize, which is why it seems like the brake is being put on at full lock! they are Michelin Agilis 235 6S R16
There isnt an owners manual in it so what is the right size tyre? if i fit spacers will i damage the bearings as i read they had caused problems
regards

You wont really damage the bearings with that size tyres to be honest. I think the standard size is either 195 or 205 but not sure for a vitara.
Depending where they catch you might also need a small lift, or take a hammer to the inside of the wheel arch where its catching.
On SJs/Samurais there is a lip that is easily folded flat, not sure about a vit though
