Neglected my sj for a few months, decided to clean it up a bit today and make sure all is okay for ITV (In Spain, MOT equivalent) test. It started but wouldn't idle which has never happened before - usually wants to idle high all the time!
I could smell petrol, and saw the fuel pump had fuel all round it's rim. Thought it was the line from the carb (original Aisin malarkey) leaking so cleaned that up but it wasn't. It seems like the pump itself has a leak around its join.
So, decided I would buy another pump as this one is prob the original 30 odd year old one, but all the pumps I see online are different looking!
This (assuming the link works) is my pump, and the pic shows the leaking fuel around the rim.
can I assume a regular looking 'normal' pump would fit, and if so, how do I know which lines go to where?

This is what all of the pumps I see for sale look like;

Thanks for any advice!

Don't know why it won't let me post the link. Go to eBay type in Suzuki sj fuel pump. Second one on the list is your mechanical pump...
If it ticks over...leave it

Hmmm, the one that looks the same is for a 410 but mine is a 413...

Could replace it with a electric pump and cap the old one off

I’d remove the old pump and check if the fittings are the same. Possibly just a different looking pump used for s time, or that may be a random aftermarket pump fitted in a previous life.
