my sammy has a detroit auto locker in the rear. u can connect it to an air pump to allow u to leave it locked when in the mud but i haven't bothered i just let it do its own thing and seems fine, i have seen them on ebay but not very often

i want a manual system so i can control it locking and unlocking. having an air operated one means i have to have compressors and air lines where i'd rather cables and levers.
tell me about the detroit auto locker...try and sell it to me!

it was on the car when i brought it from a friend of a friend, he had a rep of only using the best and he told me he had looked in2 it in depth and thought the detroit was the best, it seems to work very well. when going up hills u just leave the power on u can feel the the rear wheels spin takes a second then it locks up and off u go. when towing land rovers etc its fun as the diff comes in and out as u pull them this makes my car snake on the rear end and covers them in even more mud. lol. i used to drive car on road and it seemed fine on tarmac

Can you actually get manual locking diffs without air or electrics? i've never seen any
enlighten me please!
there's nothing wrong with a detroit/lockright locker tho and they are defo the cheapest option when it comes to difflocks.
