it can be done , but it involves chopping props i think ? , also you need to somehow wire into the ecu and you need a different fuel pump , , also changing flywheels etc
and i belive you need a vauxhall manta gearbox what i think are becomming like hens teeth

both of them are not mine but i can be done ;)

Yeah basically any RWD engine and gearbox could be made to fit, the yanks fit the 4.0 V6, if you can fabricate some engine mounts, make up a mini prop then the skys the limit

red top is a good lump though, mated to a manta gearbox, see tim pink for that :-)

My favourite I've seen so far is a 270bhp Honda S2000 engine and gearbox :screwy: so yeah you can make anything fit if you want it too.

You'll need a Vauxhall engine and gearbox that fit together and then you'll need to fabricate your own mountings, cut and shut the gearbox to t-box shafts and fit an electric fuel pump, as well as plumb in the electro-shindigs that make the stove run.

I'd recommend the Ecotech 2 litre 16 valve (X20XEV), the famous Redtop (C20XE) or if you want to go crazy the turbo-charged (C20LET), but basically any of the engines that'll mate up to the gearboxes that'll fit.

Gearboxes I think your options are Carlton, Omega or Manta.

There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I am a big fan of the old 8v lump, especially in 130bhp SRI form, used to have a cav SRI mk3, and loved it, always went, easy to fix if it ever didnt, and had a nice simple but good injection system to boot

was tempted to do the conversion back on my first SJ 8 years ago (when carltons were a plenty)

We fitted a fiat supermirafiori 2 litre in with gearbox in an sj410. Only had room for 2 runber donuts of a granada drivetrain but worked a treat in place of shaft. Worth considering as they absorb alot of shock
