just seen SuzukiSteve's green rocker cover with polished "SUZUKI"
so I'm thinking, if I have to keep the 410 engine I may aswel keep it looking clean and tidy, so the plan is to remove the engine, do both crank seals, paint all of my engine bay red to match the rest of the car, and clean, paint and polish the engine..
so does anyone know what I need to use to clean the engine so it can be painted and what high temp paints are the best? should I use high temp lacquer aswel to make sure the paint doesn't flake, peel or fade?

Jizer and a good pressure washer will take all the gunk off. Then its wire brush time.
All VHT i've used is crap! Waste of money. Best off just polishing it in my opinion.

Use an engine enamel for painting.
If your SJ is ever going to encounter any mud I wouldn't bother to be honest

I was thinking either polish the head and rocker cover or paint it, think ill polish it and use some height temp lacquer to keep it polished, only thing is the block will still look messy, hmm might just polish head and rocker cover, carb, alternator etc and get some nice silicone hoses on it aswel if I can find a set for a 410 engine..

Re: engine detailing; steam clean, paint and polish??
personally im not gonna bother with the block as it'll get muddy an oily. the rocker cover however was an experiment out of pure curiosity to be honest. if it works, brilliant, if not it'll be cleaned up with paint stripper and returned to standard
pickle power!
