Waffle boards

Post by Jordi » Mon Aug 19, 2013 7:06 pm

Having seen Scotties in action i was quite impressed with their usefulness (is that a real word?).

Any thing i should look out for when buying a set?

Particular brands? Materials? Prices? Length? Thickness?

Presume something about as wide as my tires? Rated to 500kg / 750kg a board?

No idea on this so looking for a bit of advice / guidance.

Cheers

I know you can get different thicknesses. Also someone said to me they got a sheet of it 8x4 and made a few sets for mates so size/length can be big.

I'm pretty sure mine are the 38mm ones and 4ft long.

I can't remember who I bought them from but it was direct from the factory that made them and it was around £40 for the set, I.e the cheapest set I could find  I've had them 7 years and they are still going strong, used to always use them in the SJ especially when I was out on solo green laning missions.

They look like they would do the job. Probably get the 50mm not the 38mm.

Pretty sure tracmat is the place I bought them from, do you want me to double check how thick mine are? I'm 99% sure they are 38mm though. I don't think there's any need to get any thicker than that, they'll probably weigh quite a bit more and once they are full of mud they weigh loads as it is

Those ones i was looking at are trakmats.

If you could double check yours Scott, the length and thickness please. For the price i think they will be a worthwhile accessory.

I'm just undecided. Did you search the internet and find the pic. Or nip to the kitchen and take it yourself.

Not sure which is the least sad answer either.
