looking at doing a bodylift..
ive looked through the write up of how to do the body lift, i know there are 10 mounts but i need to know how many of each type of mount i need to make..
i know there are; captive spacers, bolt through spacers and plain spacers (no bolt, tack welds in place)
so how many of each do i need?

Re: looking at doing a bodylift..
Why do you want to do a body lift? Doesn't really have any benefits apart from being able to fit bigger tyres but you arches are cut out anyway so there's not much point.
Re: looking at doing a bodylift..
haha ive been offered a set of 4 general grabbers, 31 x 10.50 R15, and looking at the clearence i have at the moment there isnt alot, i would have to chop out some of the rear of the front arches and weld new plate into there to gain some clearence, seams easier to do a bodylift and it means i get another 2" lift ontop of the 2" lift ill gain from the 31's

Re: looking at doing a bodylift..
Body lift isn't really a lift, the chassis is still the same height so doesn't really make a difference.
I would fit the tyres and cut for clearance, it won't take much longer than doing a body lift.

Re: looking at doing a bodylift..
well the thing is what i need to cut is the new arches i put in including my side steps so it would be a lot of work, i know i will only gain tire clearence fron doing the lift but it makes it look a bit bigger lol
it took a while to get them arches the way they are with the side steps so i dont really want to be cutting it all up again..

Re: looking at doing a bodylift..
Have you fitted the tyres to check clearance already then?
If it's only the back of the arch they might catch on what about re drilling the spring perches and Ubolt plates to move the front axle 25mm forwards?

Re: looking at doing a bodylift..
picking them up tomorrow afternoon, it works out that they should be 2" bigger all the way round the standard wheels, need to do the work before taking the zuk round the corner to fit the tyres or i wont be able to drive it back from the garage cause i wont be able to turn haha..

Re: looking at doing a bodylift..
Did you see my suggestion I added to my previous reply?
I would just test fit them for now to check clearances, remember to flex it up on full lock as well.
I think If you moved the front axle forwards you might need to trim the front of the arches, but then I've always thought they'd look better trimmed up to the bottom of the wings anyway

Re: looking at doing a bodylift..
i have now lol, i was thinking that but wont i need a prop spacer then?
i have been wanting to chop them back for ages but dont think the neighbours would appreciate me in the street spraying hot bits of metal everywhere lol, still waiting to get some power in the workshop so i can get on with a few bits..
moving the axle foreward would be enough to gain the clearance i need i think, its just putting some weld on the front bumper mounts as id need to chop the bottom corner of the bumper mounts off as they have the bolts in..
