Need some help with my nuts.

Post by AntD » Tue Feb 04, 2014 3:25 pm

So.. The SJ came with the spare, and the mount... But no nuts for the wheel once on the mount - So currently cruising with a big black mount sticking out and no spare on it!

Being a simpleton I thought it would be easy, measure the diameter (11 mill) and get nuts - though I've been reliably informed there are different thread types?

So.. I need 3 nuts - But which 3? From where?

And... What's the best way to secure the wheel - padlock through the lock hole?

Excellent, thanks for that.

Won't postage be as much/more than I can buy them for?

In fact we're not quite there, they're not wheel nuts - bolts are part of mount so they're everyday normal nuts, to go on bolts not in holes!

I'm pretty sure they are wheel nuts. Try a wheel but on it and see.

It it's an original spare wheel mount it will use standard wheel nuts, Sjs use wheel nuts not bolts ;) take one off one of your wheels and try, I won't want anything for a few nuts, just cover postage

There's definitely three bolts sticking out of the mount, welded in. No holes for wheel nuts. Maybe it's not a standard mount...?

Sounds standard three bolts 2 at top 1 at bottom, wheel nuts fit
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

Just to clarify this is a wheel nut, 19mm with an m12x1.25 thread

and it fits on a suzuki hub and spare wheel mount
