Re: SJ and spares FOR SALE

Hi, I typed up more info the other day and went to post it but couldn't due to my internet dongle suddenly breaking- an omen not to sell or what! I'm unable to post any pics, as I'm struggling to upload them into attachments. Ideally would like to fetch 1200 for SJ and spares. SJ with snow camo pain...

Re: regretting 1.6 conversion

Yeah I think so, had a carb on the inlet I removed but no mechanical fuel pump on the head. I got a low pressure facet type fuel pump which I have fitted. Plumbed straight into my SU I was running with the 1.3. I'm going to order up a service kit and a few needles for it, as I am sure sure that timi...

Re: regretting 1.6 conversion

Thanks for the replies. I really appreciate some more minds on it. The dizzy is not out 180, everything returns to correct positions when engine is turned 2 rotations on crank. Yep using a timing light to set it aswell. Checking both on pulley at front and flywheel. I'm running 1.3 dizzy and whatnot...

regretting 1.6 conversion

Hi everyone, thanks for all who replied to previous post. Since then, I have a bolted in 1.6 vit engine with an eBay special stage 1 upgraded clutch kit ( wouldn't advise purchasing due to poor manufacturing) fitted. A brand new 1.6 rad which leaks (another eBay spacial). And a few other more money ...

Re: 1.6 vit engine conversion suggestions...

Thanks most appreciated. Weren't a good idea that probably. My fabrication skills are ok, have kept her on the road for 6 years now, so I've had a bit of practice.

Re: 1.6 vit engine conversion suggestions...

Let's not get the topic heated up, haha, 1.6 rad has been ordered up. Currently 410 t-box is on there, and am wanting to upgrade to rocklobster, when funds allow. Longer springs offer a better all round performance then? Will have to get looking for some hilux springs or something, like the sound of...

Re: 1.6 vit engine conversion suggestions...

That's awesome info thanks Scottie. I'm running 16"rims with 33's on and am going to be messing about with diff ratios to see what suits me best, as I'm not planning to climb Everest, but want something that climbs well. I was looking at a stage 1 clutch kit on eBay, but maybe I should just go ...

1.6 vit engine conversion suggestions...

Hi, currently undergoing Vitara engine conversion and would like some suggestions on a few bits if any kind souls out they're may be able to help. First and foremost, clutch upgrade, what's the cheapest way to go to fit a decent heavy duty clutch that doesn't cost the earth? I have little info on th...
