Re: Starters for sj 1.6 conversion
It doesn't fit.
Even after lots of cutting and put an old 9 tooth gear on.
Etc etc the D6RA62 does not fit my Sammie 1.3 gearbox, 1.6 Vit Engine.

1.6 Vit Engine in Sammie. What Radiator?
Hi Guys,
Ive got a Sammie, with a 1.6 Vitara Engine Conversion.
The radiator that was fitted was leaking badly, and also the engine seems to get pretty hot.
is there a common Radiator upgrade that goes with fitting a 1.6 into a Sammie?

Re: Engine Identification
Changed lambda tonight. Seemed to make a slight improvement.
Think the next step is to seal the exhaust leak from manifold. And to peform the TPS test and adjustment.
After that I am out of ideas.

Re: Engine Identification
A leak from the exhaust manifold will throw the O2 sensor reading off and cause it to run rich, that is well worth investigating, a new O2 sensor would be a good investment too. How did you determine that your compression tester was out by 60psi? Rhino. I used my air compressor with a high quality ...

Re: Engine Identification
Ok so finally got round to buying a compression tester and doing a compression test. Results below. Measured in PSI. WIDE open throttle. https://fbcdn-photos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xta1/v/t1.0-0/11377174_10153337121058255_8942927947988531435_n.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoidCJ9&oh=e39d461ad14b28a66a7078d...

Re: Engine Identification
If the condition of the motor is unknown then I'd do a compression test, it may not be an EFI problem. Will do. Also I have noticed today a soot build up on the exhaust manifold so looks like an exhaust leak. Could this be a cause of the problem? Also noticed the Check Engine light comes on when th...
