Re: Suzuki SJ410 - broke into, cut ignition wiring - no power at all to anything

Thanks for that, it's a massive help. It looks like I'm taking the whole loom out then (which is a 20 minute job :D )

Suzuki SJ410 - broke into, cut ignition wiring - no power at all to anything

My SJ was broken into the other day - smackheads attempted to start it somehow - it has two crookloks on it, and is disabled, and also the transfer box is in N and you need to do something else to get it started. They didn't even manage to to get the crookloks off, complete amateurs. They did howeve...

Water leak into driver's side footwell

I 'suddenly' have this leak into the driver's side footwell. I did have a leak on both sides, but sealing the vent scuttle plastic thing where it meets the vent fixed that. I sealed the windscreen up three times assuming it was coming in here, but it did nothing. I traced the driver side leak to thi...

What is the deal with centre/side vents on the bulkhead?

I have a 1984 SJ410 commercial - it has a vent on the side on the bulkhead, and I've never seen one before - only ever seeing a centre vent.
I discovered this when I went to get bits off another 84 SJ (namely the heater box), which had a centre vent, and discovered it wouldn't fit.

Firing order is 1 3 4 2, first cylinder is aways at the front of the engine nearest the belts.

Re: Starting from cold, not starting from warm... SJ 413

A carburettor has to run spot on, otherwise adjusting things will throw something else out. I learnt to leave it alone if it runs well - I had a mk1 Subaru Justy and for some reason I had to start messing round with the carb and it never ran again.

SJ410 - rear propshaft "play"

I've had my SJ since July last year, I've spent the past six months restoring it, and put it back on the road a couple of days ago. It's fine, but there has (and always has been) a rumble from the back. I've cleaned up the running gear and repainted them - putting the rear prop back in, I noticed th...

Re: SJ410 Engine Transplant

Hi, I also have an early SJ - I attempted to put a 16v G13B in (I sold the original F10A), but with the mounts being different on the chassis and the tunnel being the wrong shape and everything, I abandoned it and then bought another F10A and put that back in. I bought the whole lot as a package, bu...

Re: SJ 410 Alternator Wires

My old engine had a connector with three pins, the other engine (assume it's a later type) I got had one for two.
