Hi Guys,
ive inherited a 2003 GV1600 softtop and looking to trick it out for offroading.
I was wondering if any of you had mod'd the same vehicle and had any tips.
Im looking to lift susp and body 2" each and add some extra articulation. I suspect im going to need to refit the bumpers etc so have any of you done this before and how difficult is it.
I need to keep the vehicle road legal (Boring i know) until ii get myself another car for getting to and from work.
Any general tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks HappyHippy86

Another question.
If I keep the original rims 16" what's the largest tyre you can get away with before having to trim the arches.

I don't know tyre sizes for that lift but do for standard height. What kind of offroading do you want to use it for?
Janspeed manifold, LWB Vit vented discs and calipers

Re: Vitara new project help!
Hi Dan,
Its mainly going to be at Kirton offroad center plus a bit of greenlaning from lincolnshire (Woods etc) not going to be Rock Crawling but could do with the clearance.
I know vitaras of my model are awkward for rims as the calipers get in the way however would love a wider footprint. im going to have to widen the arches or stick some flares on but hoping to try get away with not having to trim them back to much.
Its got the standard alloys on at the momemt which are 215/65R16 6.5Jx16 ET25
Thinking if i get rims the same size to get around the caliper issue and then get some bigger wellies, just not sure what i could get away with without having a bunch of tyres available and eyeing them up.
There aint many places round me that stock them either.
Thanks
Sean
