So I finished painting the tank, and was going to put the carpet back down, but then realised I couldn't if I was going to patch the passenger side, so I decided to have a poke with a screw driver,
It was crustyier than I thought, so I cut off the edges so I can make a patch next time I get to play in the garage,

And the floor cut back,

I took the overhang behind the rear arch off too, id given it some bridging filler before, it looks like it will be more work than the other side but ho hum, when the tanks refitted I'll turn the zook and I'll be able to get to that side and give it my full attention,

So I had an hour on the zook on Wednesday, i made a patch up welded it in and ground down the welds (on the passenger side back corner) whilst I was working I felt something go in my left eye, I was wearing safety glasses but the Sparks were ricocheting off the wheel arch and must have come in over the top of my glasses, I left it thinking that although my eyes were sore they would get better! I slept on it and did another full day struggling to see and feeling like I had something in my eye, then I relented and went to A&E, they had a look and found a particle in both eyes, first they put a numbing eye wash in, then they poked my eyes with cotton buds. I sat on one of those machines that they look into your eyes with, I kept my eyes open while they had a scrape with a needle to make sure they got the rust out, it wasn't painful but was strange as when I was focusing on the wall and he was touching my eyeball with the needle it was pulling my focus off to one side as he applied pressure - gross, anyway they got it all out and gave me some cream to put in it, and today my eyes are sore and swollen,

So my advice to you all is wear goggles!

I've also done the same. Left it too long and had to have the rust rings scraped out from under the skin with a needle.

So today I made minor progress, I put my braided fuel line on,

And then I refitted my fuel tank

Image

I need to buy some clamps for the filler neck then I can put some juice in it and get it started, and turned,

So I did a little more on the zook today, my first job was finishing the little bit of welding on the passengers rear corner, (the place where I got something in my eye last time)
So ta da

Image

I then re routed the fuel line as previously I'd managed to kink the bugger,

Image

Then it happened, i put x2 jerrycans of fuel in the tank and it moved under its own power!

Image

Image

And I most certainly would not do something as irresponsible as taking it for a blast up the road..... Anyway while it was out it was time to assess the work that needed doing on the passenger side,

The rear passenger corner

Image

The sill

Image

Then a general look about,
The inside needs a good clean

Image

My colour match paint doesn't look to well matched.... Maybe my Suzuki isn't 10p 'flash red'

Image

Then the back now it's all painted

Image

So soon to make a start on the passenger side,
