Infotainment pairing
Has anyone tried pairing something like a personal player to the Bluetooth, on the infotainment system.
Was told I could do it, but for the life of me cannot see where to put the code.
Not talking mobile phones here, that would be easier.
I want to pair a mini disc portable player.
....(Loving the smilies! lol)

Re: Infotainment pairing
I think when they talk about pairing a "personal player" they're talking about iPods and suchlike that have bluetooth. Although you can still connect older players (including your record player if it has a headphone jack) with something like this thing.
1985 SJ413VX (SJ50V) with SPOA, rear disc brakes, 31x10.5R15 Kaiman Malatesta tyres, an MOT and a lot left to do!

Re: Infotainment pairing
I'd think you would have to look in the device's manual for that

Oh, I've looked.....and looked and looked and looked............its beyond me, oh well.
I think its made just to pair phones, nothing else.

Re: Infotainment pairing
Try a pairing code of 0000 or 1234 that works on 99.9999% of the Bluetooth Pairing codes!

Re: Infotainment pairing
I understand about the pairing code, it is 0000.
My problem sounds stupid.....where do I put the code ?
For the life of me, I cannot find anywhere.

Re: Infotainment pairing
On the steering wheel controls for the phone (on the left), you should see three buttons, the first is a “speech” symbol, the second is a “phone up” symbol, the last is a “phone down” symbol. Press (pull from behind towards you) the middle “phone up” button. Your entertainment system should now say “Bluetooth Not Connected”, followed by “Bluetooth Phone”.
Turn the “SOUND TUNE/FLD” knob on the right hand side of the entertainment system until the screen says “Bluetooth Setup” and then press in the “SOUND TUNE/FLD” button.
Turn again until you reach “Phone Setup”. Press.
Turn again until you get to the “Pair Phone”. Press.
Turn again, it will say “Record Name”. Press.
It will say “Listening”
Say something like “James’s Phone”
It will repeat back the recorded name
Turn again, then press to confirm.
Now choose a device type, turn and you will see “Phone Only” or “Int. Audio”.
Choose “Int. Audio” by pressing the button.
It will display the device name of the car which is “CAR M_MEDIA”
It will then display the “Passkey” which is often 0000 or 1234 (or another 4 digit number)
Does that make sense?

Re: Infotainment pairing
Many thanks for detailed info!
Ours has not got the knobs you mention....(sound tune)...its all done by touch screen...but it should be more or less the same principals.
I will give it a go.
In the manual I can see the one that you are referring to, shame really as that one has a CD and a Aux!
Getting used to the USB.
