Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
I'm in a bit of a weird place right now. Health is pretty bad, and some around me seem to think that adding stress to my life right now would be a good thing. The government seems to think that if I lie to them about my situation and condition, they have the right to prosecute me for fraud. Ok, I can see that point, seems fair to me.
But if the DWP lies about me in order to deny me my rights, that's not fraud somehow. One standard for me, a different one for them.
Lovely.
The daily driver has been giving me jip. Crappy Ford. I should have known better - but reliabilityindex.com told me that it was the most reliable car I could get that met my needs. It's been off the road for 2 months, and I've been basically locked indoors because of that. New glow plugs. Nope. New head gasket. Head's cracked. New head. Nope, block's cracked too. New engine. Will only start on starter fluid. New fuel pump. Mechanic gets seriously ill (burst blood vessel). Maybe, just maybe, it'll be done today.
So a bit stressed. I think the total bill for that lot is going to be close to what the car was worth. That's ok, though, if it's reliable after all this. Big if, though. Big if.
I really need to get out and drive a zuk somewhere there's no asphalt!

Yeah, but to be honest they didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I just have to stick to my guns and fill in all the forms ever...

Rock sliders cut in half, 40mm removed then welded back together and now on the truck. However, one side is lower than the other! My fault entirely so will go back to have one 'adjusted'. Then it's the custom front bumper to go on with a little cage to cover the winch, should keep plod happy!

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
Took the roof off yesterday with 'sound' reasoning. I need to get the new one on, that involves adding new fasteners and I thought I'd make the old one into a bikini top...
And sick and tired of this happening every 2-3 miles...

Yes mate. It's the 413 rad I am using. I have ordered a vit one but the car will need a lot of surgery to get it to fit!

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
I never had an issue with mine on the sj rad.
Bit the lj engine bay is a lot small compared with an sj engine bay.
Is the old rad in good condition?
Tried running it with the thermostat out?
