Painting chassis

I’m trying to decide what to do with the chassis and under body, I’m not going to match them to the body colour and no waxoil. I’m wondering if it would be worth using raptor or just go with under seal?
So what do we think then???

Raptor gets loads of decent review, but it aint cheap is it?

Depending on budget I think gold plating would look good, but maybe raptor is a more sensible option

To be fair the chassis' are pretty good out of the factory so if there is no chipping or rust just leave it.

Got to admit Tim I’m not a fan of gold
There are a few marks on the chassis, mainly where dirt has been trapped, slowly finding stuff as I clean it and this has got me thinking about keeping it clean

Havent used raptor myself. Scottie has tho so may have an opinion.

Used gravitex, seems okay but gets a bit messy. Gets coverage done nice and quick tho.

Are you looking to brush paint? I've just been using my first pot of corroless all on one chassis paint, inhibitor primer and top coat with glass fibres in it. Seems to cover well but goes of bloody fast. Like nothing a few mins it's drying. I like it so far.

Andy was thinking spray can, they seem to be a reasonable price, but brushing isn’t a problem

I'm unlikely to ever use Raptor again now I've used all the raptor I had. It's too hard, abrasion resistance is brilliant but drop something on it and it chips far too easily. It seems a bit better if it's thinned and then applied with a spray gun instead of a schultz gun but I'm still not totally impressed by it.

There's a guy local to me that will blast and primer our LJ chassis for £180. I'm going to do that and then will probably go down the same route as my lwb chassis, 2 coats of white Gravitex and then over paint it with whatever colour i'm using for the body.
