Hi, I am looking for a mechanic or a garage in the Poole,Dorset area which can help me solve my '07 Jimny "Death wobble" issues. I have had the king pin bearings replaced as well as new suspension shocks all round, usual tyre checks etc but the steering wheel wobble is still there between 45-50 MPH.
My local Suzuki dealership are great for any official Suzuki parts and servicing but I need a garage or mechanic who is willing to investigate this issue further. Many thanks in advance for any advice. I've had my Jimny for over 15 years now and still thoroughly enjoy driving it apart from this steering wheel issue.

Hello I’m in Dorset and don’t know any specialist. I would say check all the bushes, get in there with a crowbar and see if anything has any movement. Also check all the bolts

Hi Robbie, many thanks. I'm thinking of maybe contacting Douglas Motors in Stanbridge, Wimborne, or AL Services in Poole. They're Land Rover specialists and might be more willing than other garages I've spoken to and would replace the Jimny radius arm bushes, trailing arm bushes and track rod ends. That might just solve the wobble. Many thanks.

Unfortunately there are a lot of things that can cause death wobble on a Jimny.
Shock absorbers will have no effect at all on a steering wobble.
Did the knuckle ball seals get replaced when the kingpin bearings were done and were the kingpin bearings shimmed correctly? Were good quality bearings used as well? There needs to be a certain amount of resistance at the kingpins/knuckles and if there isn’t you can get bad wobble.
Tyre balance and tracking need to be checked as well.
Have the track rod ends gone floppy and worn?
If all of these have been checked and correctly set up then the next thing to do is panhard arm bushes, then radius arm bushes.
If none of that fixes it then it’s time to look at wheel bearings.
Last possibility is slightly seized CV joints if the Jimny has never been used in 4x4
