Wiring diagram

Post by ARCDEB » Wed Jul 02, 2025 9:37 am

Hi peeps can anybody help me? does anybody have a early 1982 sj410 wiring diagram must be the type with external voltage regulator, its got to be the one with 3 wire square plug on the alternator. There are plenty later ones with the built in regulators in the alternator but i can seen to find a early one, even the Haynes workshop manual does not cover they early type. Thanks in advance

The lj80 wiring diagram might work for what you need, they share the same alt and external voltage regulator.

You could always convert it to run the newer alternator with an internal regulator.

You’ll just need to wire up the thick white wire to the + stud as usual.

IIRC the later jap ones have a type 1 style plug so

White-red that goes to the voltage reg is the warning light hook that up to L
And
Black-white to IG

The other wires aren’t needed. Make sure the white at the old voltage regulator plug is insulated though to avoid any shorts as that will be a permanent live.
